It breaks vocal production down into practical components (“Figures for Voice”) and combines them into recognisable voice qualities, so you can make clear, repeatable choices about how you speak and sing.

How Estill Voice Training Works in Practice
Estill Voice Training starts by helping you understand how your voice works and then gives you practical ways to experiment with it. Instead of guessing or relying only on imagery, you learn specific, repeatable adjustments you can make, and how to combine them into the kinds of sounds you need for your work.
Figures for Voice (Level 1)
In Level 1, you’re introduced to a series of “Figures for Voice” – targeted exercises that focus on one part of the voice system at a time and what happens when you change it. You explore these Figures using everyday sounds and guided experiments, so you can feel and hear the difference each one makes and start building conscious control, not just copying a sound by ear.
Voice Qualities (Level 2)
In Level 2, you learn how to combine options from different Figures into “voice qualities” – recognisable configurations such as Speech, Falsetto, Sob, Twang, Opera, and Belt. Rather than locking you into one way of sounding, these qualities give you reference points and “recipes” you can adapt, mix, and blend to suit different songs, roles, or speaking situations.
Practice, Feedback, and VoicePrint
Throughout the training you’ll be guided through structured practice, with time to experiment, reflect, and apply what you’re learning to your own material. Where appropriate, we can also use tools like Estill Voiceprint – real‑time visual feedback of your sound – to help you see patterns, track changes, and connect what you feel with what you hear and what you see.

I am an Estill Master Trainer and Mentor Course Instructor, teaching Level 1 and 2 courses, workshops, and proficiency exams online and in person. That means you’re working with someone who is not only certified to teach Estill, but who also supports other teachers in deepening their understanding of the model and its applications.
Double‑Trained at Central and Experienced Across Sectors
I trained as both an actor and a voice practitioner at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, so I understand the pressures of performance from the inside as well as the technical tools that support it. Since then I’ve coached in drama schools, universities and professional productions, and worked with clients ranging from early‑career performers to West End casts, educators and corporate leaders.

The Level 1 & 2 Combined Course is the core Estill programme, covering Figures for Voice and all six Voice Qualities in full over two intensive days. It includes your official Estill Level 1 and Level 2 Workbooks, guided exercises, and the knowledge and tools to continue practising independently after the course ends.
Estill Refresher & Advanced Practice Sessions
